EA needs to be held accountable
Posted on May 20, 2010 at 01:22 AM.
I'm sure many of you are familiar with the constant freezes revolving around NCAA Basketball 10'. Well, it's been 7 months since the release and currently no patch has been issued or mentioned. The only news we received was that NCAA 11' would be canceled due to financial issues.

I have a big problem with EA throwing out a defective game and then essentially packing up their bags and leaving their customers high and dry. Game freezes are unacceptable, something that was left in the old-gen era. The unwillingness of EA to at least perform the right ethical action has reaffirmed the belief in my mind that they have become completely greedy and profit hungry since their stock price plummeted during the economic collapse of fall 2008.

I have traded in the game for a new version. Still freezes. I have tried playing the game on a different 360. Still freezes. The freezes occur at any time of any game not matter what I do.

I understand EA's hardships during these troubling times because I did a financial analysis of the company for one of my business grad classes. I understand that certain cutbacks have had to be made to keep the company afloat. Nevertheless, when I read about NBA live lead designer Mike Wang returning to Take Two Interactive and blasting EA for being "inefficient", I felt my concerns were at least validated.

I implore EA to consider its own ethics at the very least release a patch fixing the freezes to at least satisfy your fans. Do the right thing EA

...The Dark Tower... Lovin' the artwork, bro!

Now, on to EA. I think any hope of a fix for the freezing issue is long gone. Although I've not experienced the problem, I know how frustrating such an issue can be. It would have been nice to have all the issues in NCAA BBall 10 fixed, but once EA pulled the plug on the series, they completely turned their focus elsewhere. And that was a major mistake, in my opinion. You just can't leave your customers (many of whom buy your products year-after-year) holding the bag on a faulty product. That's just not good business...

That's my business model. If I served you lunch in my resturant and you were given a cold unfullfilling meal and when you complained about it I said "due to finacial reasons we are no longer making that sandwich" and that was it would you eat at my resturant again?

I agree with you guys arguement, at least go out with a Bang. They should not have let it go like this, I don't usually play basketball on ea, but I feel bad for the people that do.
